Kindergarten Program
Designed to meet the developmental needs of children aged 3 to 5, the EMASI Kindergarten Program combines best practices in Early Years education, including the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework from the UK, Montessori approaches, and play-based learning, while adhering to the requirements set by the national Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). This program is delivered within a learning environment fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), ensuring high-quality education and global recognition.
The school’s supportive learning environment and international bilingual program focus on the holistic and balanced development of cognitive abilities, language acquisition, social skills, physical health, mental well-being, and emotional growth. It lays a strong foundation in the early years while nurturing a genuine love for learning, empowering Kindergarten students to grow with confidence and unlock their full potential.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework
Our curriculum is structured around seven Areas of Learning and Development, as outlined in the EYFS and as shown in the visual summary of the Characteristics of Effective Learning and Teaching.
- Communication and Language
- Personal Development
- Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
- Mathematics
These domains support cognitive and social development, ensuring that students acquire a well-rounded, inquiry-driven foundation that prepares them for future academic success.
Furthermore, the curriculum places a strong emphasis on Physical Education, Swimming, Music, and Library studies, all of which are taught by specialist educators, providing students with a balanced and enriching learning experience.
Our Kindergarten Program offers numerous opportunities for students to interact with teachers, peers, and their environment, fostering essential literacies and social skills for future learning.
Strong focus on language acquisition, fostering confident bilingual learners
At EMASI, early literacy, particularly phonics and writing, is seen as a critical foundation for all future learning. To support this, our bilingual model offers daily instruction in both English and Vietnamese. We implement a dual-language phonics program that combines the MOET curriculum with a systematic synthetic phonics curriculum validated by the UK Department for Education that equips students with essential reading skills. The bilingual approach helps students develop flexible language skills, preparing them for Primary School and beyond at EMASI.
A Purposefully Designed Learning Environment
Recognizing the profound impact of the learning environment on early childhood development, EMASI’s Kindergarten provides a curated, safe, secure, and stimulating space tailored to the needs of young learners. Wall-less classroom settings designed with minimal structural barriers encourage social interaction and dynamic engagement between students and educators. This classroom design facilitates meaningful bilingual immersion, reinforcing our commitment to learning through play and exploration.
Dedicated and Qualified Educators
Our Kindergarten faculty consists of experienced and passionate early childhood educators who are committed to fostering confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning. Through a nurturing and student-centered approach, our teachers encourage children to develop self-trust, explore their interests, and engage in meaningful learning experiences. This approach ensures that each student is supported in their individual growth, developing the skills, resilience, and creativity needed for their continued educational journey.
